Mining Engineering Department

The Mining Engineering Department trains mine engineers who can handle the full chain from extraction to ore processing, meeting the surging demand for critical minerals, rare earths, and base metals. Students learn mine-design principles through geomechanics and blast-engineering simulation, work through underground mine design and ventilation planning, and practice ore-grade estimation, tailings management, and reclamation planning. Graduates head into the field ready to personally take charge of optimizing real extraction plans with mineral-economics modeling and safely running a mining project end to end.
