💡 Thermodynamics & Geothermal Engineering
The Geothermal Energy Engineering Department teaches the full pathway from subsurface heat to usable power, producing engineers ready to lead geothermal projects in the renewable-energy transition. Through thermal-reservoir simulation labs, students learn the principles of enhanced geothermal system (EGS) stimulation and heat recovery, evaluate hydrothermal and petrothermal resource potential, work through geothermal well-drilling design, and calculate the economics of binary-cycle and direct-use power generation. Graduates can carry a geothermal project from resource assessment through to a bankable feasibility study.
