Oil & Gas Exploration Project Department

Oil & Gas Exploration Project is designed to walk students through the entire hydrocarbon exploration workflow, from basin analysis through drilling and appraisal. Students practice play-fairway analysis and seismic-attribute/DHI detection, and quantitatively assess resource potential through basin and petroleum-systems modeling. Working through projects that calculate the success probability of wildcat-drilling and formation-testing scenarios, graduates develop the risk-assessment skills exploration decision-making demands.
