Energy Human Resources Development Project Holds Expert Consultation Meeting
[Jeonju=GeoVis] The Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL) announced that it held an expert consultation meeting for overseas dispatch personnel of the Energy Human Resources Development Project (Energy New Industry Global).
This consultation meeting was arranged for the pre-departure preparation and goal achievement of five researchers who are about to be dispatched overseas. A top-level expert panel consisting of selection committee members participated and provided practical advice.
Dr. Eun-jin Park, Dr. Byung-jun Yoon, and Dr. Jun-young Huh from the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) participated as consultants, and Dr. Jong-ha Hwang from the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST) also attended. All of them are top experts with extensive experience in leading national research institutions in the energy sector.
The meeting focused on reviewing the individual research goals of the dispatched researchers, effective cooperation methods with overseas research institutions, and strategies for systematic dissemination of research results. In particular, emphasis was placed on establishing customized strategies considering the research environment and cultural characteristics of each target country.
Dr. Eun-jin Park, an expert in geological structure analysis and resource exploration, advised on how to utilize geological data in overseas research institutions. Dr. Byung-jun Yoon provided practical research execution methods based on his field application experience in geophysical exploration technology.
Dr. Jun-young Huh emphasized effective communication with overseas researchers based on his experience in managing international collaborative research projects. Dr. Jong-ha Hwang proposed ways to expand research cooperation using international networks in the field of marine geophysical exploration.
The Energy New Industry Global project is a representative overseas talent nurturing program supported by the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning, aiming to foster next-generation global leaders in the energy sector. The selected researchers will gain research experience for 6 months to 1 year at world-class overseas research institutions.
Through this consultation meeting, the dispatched researchers established specific action plans tailored to their respective research areas. They also prepared a systematic roadmap for regular performance reviews during the dispatch period and for disseminating results after their return.
Professor Ju-Won Oh stated, "We found a way to maximize the effectiveness of overseas dispatch through valuable advice from top domestic experts." He added, "We hope that the dispatched researchers will gain world-class research experience and return to contribute to the development of domestic energy technology."
