[Tokyo=GeoVis] Professor Ju-Won Oh of the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL) announced on the 13th that he delivered an invited lecture at the 141st SEGJ Conference.

Professor Ju-Won Oh represented the Korean Society of Earth and Exploration Geophysicists (KSEG) at the 2019 Fall meeting, giving a lecture on 'An optimal anisotropic full-waveform inversion for marine seismic data'.

SEGJ (Society of Exploration Geophysicists of Japan) is a leading academic organization for geophysical exploration in Japan, and it conducts reciprocal invited lectures annually as part of academic exchanges between Korea and Japan.

In this lecture, Professor Ju-Won Oh introduced an optimized anisotropic full-waveform inversion technique for marine seismic data. In particular, he presented in detail innovative imaging technology considering the anisotropic characteristics of seabed sediments and its application to actual marine survey data.

Accurately considering anisotropic characteristics in marine seismic exploration is essential for precise subsurface imaging, and Professor Ju-Won Oh's research is recognized internationally as a key technology in this field.

This invited lecture served as an important opportunity to deepen technological exchange in geophysical exploration between Korea and Japan and to promote domestic research capabilities internationally.

Professor Ju-Won Oh stated, "It was an honor to be able to lecture at SEGJ representing KSEG." He added, "I will continue to contribute to the ν™œμ„±ν™” of academic exchange between Korea and Japan in the future."
