BECCS Review Paper Published (SCIE, IF 16.3)

[Jeonju=GeoVis] A review paper on bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), co-authored by members of the Computational Geophysics Lab (JBCGL) at Jeonbuk National University, has been published in the international journal Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews (IF 16.3).

The paper, titled "Bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS): Interconnected technological challenges and advances using biomass thermochemical conversion towards negative emissions," was co-authored by Min Jin Karen Wong, Sunlee Han, Sea-Eun Park, Hyeon Yeong Roh, Madhan Kuppusamy, Ju-Won Oh, Hyungseok Nam, Young Soo Lee, and SeeHoon Lee (DOI: 10.1016/j.rser.2026.116832).

The review comprehensively examines the current status and challenges of the full BECCS chain -- conversion, capture, transport, storage, and monitoring -- using biomass thermochemical conversion technologies.
