PhD Candidate Sea-Eun Park Presents Utah FORGE Geothermal Site Research at 2025 NSG Conference

[Naples=GeoVis] Sea-Eun Park, a PhD candidate at the Computational Geophysics Lab (JBCGL) of Jeonbuk National University, successfully delivered an oral presentation at the 2025 Near Surface Geoscience (NSG) Conference, held in Naples, Italy from September 7 to 11.

On September 10, Park presented research titled "Multi-Scale Seismic Inversion for P-wave Velocity from Sediments to Crystalline Basement at Utah FORGE Geothermal Field." The study aims to characterize P-wave velocity from the sedimentary layers to the crystalline basement at the Utah FORGE (Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy) site in Utah, USA, through multi-scale seismic inversion.

The presentation is the result of collaborative research involving Professor Ju-Won Oh, Dr. Yun-Ha Jung, Dr. Nori Nakata of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), and Dr. Ben Dyer of Geo-Energie Suisse, Switzerland, among other domestic and international researchers.
