Master's Student Jung Yoon-ha Enhances Practical Capabilities Through Internship at Global Energy Company SLB

[Seoul=GeoVis] Jung Yoon-ha, a Master's student at Jeonbuk National University's Computational Geophysics Lab (JBCGL), enhanced her practical capabilities in the geophysics field by participating in an internship program (July 15 - July 28, 2025) at the Korean branch of global energy technology company SLB (formerly Schlumberger).

This internship provided Jung Yoon-ha with a valuable opportunity to deeply investigate industrial application cases in geophysics and directly experience cutting-edge technologies used in the field, such as building geological models using Petrel software. SLB is a world-leading company providing digital solutions, technologies, and services for the oil and gas industry. Through this internship, Jung Yoon-ha significantly improved her ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real industrial environments.

During the internship, Jung Yoon-ha gained practical experience in understanding how geophysical data is utilized in energy exploration and production processes and in modeling complex geological structures. This will serve as an important foundation for her growth as a data analysis and interpretation expert in future geophysical exploration and development fields.

Jung Yoon-ha expressed her aspirations, stating, "Through the SLB internship, I was able to vividly experience how geophysical technologies are applied and developed in actual industrial settings. Based on this experience, I will conduct more in-depth research and grow into an expert who contributes to the development of the future energy industry."

The Computational Geophysics Lab (JBCGL) plans to continuously expand cooperation opportunities with leading domestic and international companies and institutions to foster students who possess both academic knowledge and practical capabilities.
