PhD Student Sea-Eun Park Receives the 2025 JBNU-G Outstanding Researcher Award

[Jeonju=GeoVis] Sea-Eun Park, a Ph.D. student at the Computational Geophysics Lab (JBCGL) of Jeonbuk National University, has been honored as a '2025 Jeonbuk National University-G (JBNU-G) Outstanding Researcher', receiving a certificate of commendation from the President of Jeonbuk National University along with a research grant.

The 'JBNU-G Outstanding Researcher' program is part of the 4th Stage Brain Korea 21 (BK21) FOUR Graduate School Innovation Project, designed to discover and support talent with exceptional research capabilities and achievements among doctoral students and graduates of the JBNU General Graduate School. This year, only about 20 graduate students were selected after a rigorous screening process.

Sea-Eun Park was selected for this program in high recognition of her active research activities and numerous international joint research achievements in the fields of carbon neutrality and resource security. In particular, her innovative research results, achieved through collaboration with leading international research institutions, have been praised for elevating JBCGL's global research competitiveness. The 3 million KRW research grant awarded as a prize will be used for expenses related to participation and presentation at international academic conferences.

Professor Ju-Won Oh, her academic advisor, conveyed his congratulations, stating, "This award is a very meaningful achievement, as it officially recognizes within the university the effort and passion that Sea-Eun Park has poured into her work. I hope this will be a stepping stone for her to grow into a world-class researcher who achieves even greater academic accomplishments in the future."

This award has once again proven JBCGL's outstanding research achievement capabilities both internally and externally.
