Geophysics Computing Lab Attends IMAGE24 Conference and Presents Research Findings
[Houston=GeoVis] Professor Ju-Won Oh, PhD candidate Sea-Eun Park, and master's student Yun-Ha Jung from the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL) announced on the 5th that they attended the IMAGE24 conference held at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, USA, from August 26th to 30th, 2024, and presented their latest research findings.
The Geophysics Computing Lab conducted three poster presentations at this conference and had the opportunity to gather the latest technology trends and communicate with researchers from various institutions through various oral presentations. In addition, through this IMAGE24 conference, they met with Professor Tariq Alkhalifah of KAUST in Saudi Arabia and Professor Kris Innanen of the University of Calgary in Canada to discuss future international collaborative research.
The following are the presentations made by the Geophysics Computing Lab at the IMAGE24 conference:
- Sea-Eun Park, Kristopher Innanen, Hyeong-Geun Ji and Ju-Won Oh: Time-lapse full-waveform inversion strategies for Snowflake datasets acquired at Newell County Facility in Alberta, Canada (Poster presentation, Presenter: Sea-Eun Park).
- Sea-Eun Park, Alexey Stovas, Hyeong-Geun Ji and Ju-Won Oh: Application of acoustic anisotropic time-lapse full-waveform inversion at the Sleipner field (Poster presentation, Presenter: Sea-Eun Park).
- Sea-Eun Park, Joonsang Park, Alexey Stovas, Malte Voge and Ju-Won Oh: Joint geophysical monitoring at the Sleipner CCS site: Integrative interpretation of 4D FWI and 2.5D CSEM inversion with converted resistivity model from the P-wave velocity (Poster presentation, Presenter: Sea-Eun Park).
- Yun-Ha Jung, Nori Nakata, Sea-Eun Park and Ju-Won Oh: Velocity model building from 3D surface seismic data at Utah FORGE EGS site (Poster presentation, Presenter: Yun-Ha Jung).
Professor Ju-Won Oh stated, "Through attending this IMAGE24 conference, I was able to grasp the latest geophysical technology trends and expand my international research network." He added, "I will continue to contribute to the development of geophysics through innovative research."
