Geophysics Computing Lab Selected for 2024 Global Basic Research Lab Support Project
[Jeonju=GeoVis] The Geophysics Computing Lab at Jeonbuk National University has been selected for the 2024 Global Basic Research Lab Support Project, aiming to contribute to carbon neutrality technology development.
This project, with Professor Sihoon Lee as the principal investigator, is titled 'Development of Carbon Negative Green Hydrogen Production Technology Using Calcium Looping-Based Bioenergy and Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS)'. The lab will receive a total research fund of 1.375 billion won for two years, from August 1, 2024, to April 30, 2027.
This selection demonstrates the Geophysics Computing Lab's leading role in carbon neutrality technology and is expected to contribute to the development of future energy technologies.
Professor Ju-Won Oh stated, "Through the selection of this project, our lab will contribute to the development of carbon negative emission technologies and further strengthen research for a sustainable future." He added, "We will contribute to national scientific and technological development through successful research."
