Geophysics Computing Lab Visits KIGAM and Exchanges Research

[Daejeon=GeoVis] Professor Ju-Won Oh and PhD candidate Sea-Eun Park from the Geophysics Computing Lab at Jeonbuk National University visited the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) in Daejeon on July 17th, engaging in active research exchanges at the CO2 Geological Storage Research Center and the Marine Geology and Exploration Research Center.

In the morning, at the CO2 Geological Storage Research Center, Professor Ju-Won Oh gave a presentation on "Demonstration Research of Seismic Full-Waveform Inversion of Borehole Seismic Data through International Collaborative Research," sharing the lab's international collaborative research. In the afternoon, they visited the Marine Geology and Exploration Research Center and attended the "2024 Basic Project and R&D Project Self-Progress Check Workshop."

This workshop was held to check the progress of the research project "Development of Integrated Seismic Exploration and Full-Scale High-Resolution Processing Technology for 3D Seabed Precision Imaging," led by KIGAM. Professor Ju-Won Oh presented on "Evaluation of Applicability of Seismic Numerical Modeling Test for Anisotropic Elastic Media [Consigned Project]."

Professor Ju-Won Oh stated, "This visit to KIGAM was an important opportunity to share our lab's research achievements and strengthen our cooperative relationship with a top-tier research institution in Korea." He added, "We will continue to contribute to the development of geophysics through ongoing exchanges."

After the workshop, they had a time of communication over dinner with researchers from the research center.
