Master's Student Lee Youngjoo Departs for Long-Term Research Dispatch at University of Calgary, Canada

[Calgary=GeoVis] Lee Youngjoo, a master's student at the Geophysics Computing Lab of Jeonbuk National University, has departed for a long-term research dispatch at the University of Calgary (UoC) in Canada.

This dispatch is part of the 'Digital Global Research Talent Nurturing - Digital Global Research Support Project' by the Korea Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), and is supported by the 'Global Human Resources Development Project for Innovation in Smart CO2 Storage Operation through Convergence of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Twin' (Principal Investigator: Professor Ju-Won Oh). Lee Youngjoo plans to stay at the University of Calgary from June 24 to December 21, 2024, and conduct research on 'Development of AI-based Spatial Information and Geophysical Data Interpretation Technologies' with Professor Jung-Woo Kim.

This long-term dispatch is expected to provide Lee Youngjoo with international research experience and a significant opportunity to deepen her expertise in AI-based geophysical technology. The lab requested much support for Lee Youngjoo's successful research activities.

Professor Ju-Won Oh emphasized, "Lee Youngjoo's dispatch will strengthen our lab's international research capabilities and serve as an important stepping stone for students to grow into global experts." He added, "We will continue to expand such international cooperation opportunities in the future."
