Researchers Sea-Eun Park and Yun-Gon Park Attend OSEG 2023 General Meeting

The two researchers participated in the Oslo Society of Exploration Geophysicists (OSEG) Annual General Meeting 2023 held in Oslo with researchers from NGI's Offshore Energy department.
OSEG is the Oslo Society of Exploration Geophysicists, affiliated with EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers) and associated with SEG (Society of Exploration Geophysicists). It is a prestigious academic gathering where various experts and students in applied geosciences participate.
Through their attendance at this general meeting, the two researchers had the opportunity to grasp international geophysical research trends and build networks with local experts.
The presenter was Vetle Vinje, a Senior Scientist at CGG, who presented on "Imaging geology and mineralization along Mohns Ridge using seismic and controlled source electromagnetic data."
This research presentation interpreted shallow subsurface structures using 2D seismic and electromagnetic (EM) data acquired from the Mohns Ridge area. It is an interesting research content that can estimate mineralized zones through a comprehensive interpretation of the geological history of the area, seismic images, and CSEM data. After the presentation, they had dinner with researchers from various institutions such as NGI, CGG, Equinor, and PGS in the central town of Oslo, and had a good time communicating.
Meanwhile, the presenter Vetle Vinje is famous as a Norwegian Olympic medalist, having won a silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. :)
