PhD Candidate Sea-Eun Park Presents FWI Technology at NGI Meeting in Norway
[Oslo=GeoVis] Sea-Eun Park, a PhD candidate researcher at the Geophysics Computing Lab of Jeonbuk National University, announced on the 29th that she participated in a kickoff meeting for a new NGI project with researchers from the Offshore Energy department of the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute (NGI) and presented on Full-Waveform Inversion (FWI) technology.
Sea-Eun Park presented on the algorithm, research results, and computational environment of the FWI technology used in the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL), and conducted in-depth discussions on how FWI can be applied to future projects with NGI.
NGI, established in 1953, is a leading geotechnical research institution in Norway, with a global reputation in seabed geological structure analysis and ground stability assessment. In particular, its Offshore Energy department leads advanced technology research related to offshore energy development.
This meeting was an important opportunity for Sea-Eun Park to understand the latest research trends at NGI and expand her international research network. In particular, she explored practical research directions by discussing the applicability of FWI technology to actual projects.
