PhD Candidate Sea-Eun Park Publishes Paper in Journal of Applied Geophysics

[Jeonju=GeoVis] Sea-Eun Park, a PhD candidate researcher at the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL), announced on the 17th that her research paper has been published in the international journal Journal of Applied Geophysics.

The paper, published in the November 2023 issue, is titled '3D frequency-domain acoustic full-waveform inversion using diffraction-angle filtering'.

This research deals with acoustic full-waveform inversion techniques using diffraction-angle filtering in the 3D frequency domain, achieving improved imaging performance compared to existing methods. In particular, it proposes an innovative algorithm that can construct accurate velocity models even in complex subsurface structures.

Journal of Applied Geophysics is an authoritative international journal in the field of applied geophysics, primarily covering research on geophysical technologies with high practical value.

Sea-Eun Park stated, "Through this research, I was able to further enhance the practicality of the full-waveform inversion technique." She added, "I will continue to contribute to the development of geophysical exploration technology through ongoing research."
