Researchers Sea-Eun Park and Hyun-Wook Jo Selected as POSCO International Industry-Academia Scholars

[Jeonju=GeoVis] Sea-Eun Park, a PhD candidate, and Hyun-Wook Jo, a master's student researcher, from the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL), announced on the 31st that they have been selected as POSCO International Industry-Academia Scholars for 2023.

The POSCO International Industry-Academia Scholarship program is a talent development program for master's and doctoral students majoring in oil and gas resource development, aiming to foster excellent talents who will lead the future of the domestic resource development industry.

This year, a total of 10 scholars in the oil and gas resource development field were selected nationwide, and two of them achieved the remarkable feat of being from the Geophysics Computing Lab.

Sea-Eun Park was recognized for her excellent research achievements in carbon storage and geophysical monitoring, while Hyun-Wook Jo demonstrated outstanding capabilities in seismic data processing and imaging technology.

POSCO International is a leading general trading company in Korea, expanding its global business in the energy and resources sector, and is contributing to fostering specialized personnel in the industry through this scholarship support.

A lab official stated, "We are very proud of the selection of these two researchers." They added, "Based on this support, we will create even more excellent research achievements and contribute to the development of the domestic resource development field."
