Geophysics Computing Lab Visits NTNU, Norway

[Trondheim=GeoVis] The Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL) announced on the 6th that it visited the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) to expand international collaborative research.

The research team, consisting of Professor Ju-Won Oh and students Hyeonggeun Ji, Jin-Young Park, and Hyun-Wook Jo, visited the NTNU Petroleum Engineering Center (Petroleumsteknisk senter) and engaged in in-depth academic exchanges with Professor Alexey Stovas.

During this visit, the achievements of Phase 1 of the Global Companion Network Project were shared, and concrete discussions were held on the Phase 2 plan. In particular, the plan for Sea-Eun Park's dispatch to NTNU was discussed, establishing a continuous exchange system between Jeonbuk National University and NTNU.

The research team also benchmarked the graduate school operating system through a tour of the NTNU campus, which is considered the world's largest industry-academia cooperation network. This resulted in gaining new inspiration for the lab's development direction.

This visit was made possible with support from the Jeonbuk National University Global Companion Network Project and is considered a significant turning point in establishing a long-term cooperative relationship between the two institutions.

Professor Ju-Won Oh stated, "Through exchanges with NTNU, we were able to expand our international research network to a global level." He added, "We will continue to strengthen our global competitiveness through ongoing cooperation."
