Geophysics Computing Lab Presents 3D Anisotropy Research at KSMER Spring Conference

[Daejeon=GeoVis] The Geophysics Computing Lab at Jeonbuk National University announced on the 3rd that it attended the 2022 Korea Society of Mineral and Energy Resources (KSMER) Spring Conference held at the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) from May 19th to 21st, 2022, and presented its research findings.

At this conference, Master's student Roh Heechan presented on '3D Anisotropic Seismic Imaging Research for Seabed Seismic Survey Data'.

Also, Master's student Kim Seokhan presented on 'Research on Strategy for Improving Efficiency of 4D Seismic Monitoring Based on Reverse Time Migration'.

The presented research was conducted with funding from the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP) and exploration data provided by Equinor, focusing on the development of advanced seismic imaging technology in marine environments.

In particular, the characteristics of seismic wave propagation in 3D anisotropic media and the improvement of 4D monitoring technology were evaluated as key technologies for marine CCS projects, attracting great interest from experts in related fields.
