Master's Student Sea-Eun Park Publishes Paper on CO2 Storage Research in Geophysics and Geophysical Exploration Journal

[Jeonju=GeoVis] Sea-Eun Park, a master's student researcher at the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL), announced on the 29th that her paper, 'Imaging of Seabed Seismic Survey Data for CO2 Geological Storage Site Selection: 2D Reverse Time Migration of Pohang Yeongil Bay Seabed Survey Data', has been published in the Geophysics and Geophysical Exploration journal.

This research was conducted through joint research with Seoul National University, the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM), and Joongwon University.

The paper deals with imaging research applying a 2D reverse time migration technique for CO2 geological storage site selection using seabed seismic survey data from the Pohang Yeongil Bay area.

This research is evaluated to make a significant contribution to the safe site selection and monitoring technology development for future marine CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) projects.
