[Jeonju=GeoVis] Yun-Ha Jung and 4 other students from the Computational Geophysics Lab of Jeonbuk National University (JBCGL) announced on the 29th that they have been selected for the undergraduate research program of the Energy New Industry Innovation Sharing University project.

The selected research project is titled 'Research on Improving the Applicability of Geophysical Monitoring for Underground Energy Resource Management', and the research will be conducted from July 1, 2021, to January 31, 2022.

The Energy New Industry Innovation Sharing University is a consortium project in which 7 universities, including Jeonbuk National University, participate, with Seoul National University as the lead university. This project aims to jointly develop and operate non-face-to-face online curricula in the energy new industry field and to foster future energy professionals.

This undergraduate research program provides students with the opportunity to participate in actual research projects, develop problem-solving skills, and gain a deeper understanding of their major. In particular, it focuses on exploring efficient management methods for underground energy resources using geophysical monitoring technology.

A lab official stated, "We are very proud that students took the initiative in participating in research and achieved good results." They added, "We will continue to support undergraduate students to strengthen their research capabilities."
